March 1st is National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day! Make yourself a PB&J with extra peanut butter to celebrate! Maybe even think about giving your dog some. Peanut butter is rich in protein and has many healthy fats giving your dog a nice shiny coat. In honor of the day, here are a few of our favorite ways to use it:
• Try putting a small glob in the middle of a toy puzzle. This way they have to work for it, giving you a bit of time to for yourself.
• Put it in your normal dog treat recipe.
• Use it as a Trojan horse for hiding medication
But always remember, peanut butter should be a complement to your dogs regular meals and treats, not a replacement. Here is a breakdown of how much peanut butter you can give a normally active dog.
