Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the pick-up drop-off times for The Barking Lot?
A: Monday-Friday 7:30am to 7:00 pm
Saturday/Sunday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
If your pup is boarding, there is an extra half day charge for departures after 12:00 p.m.

Q: What are the vaccination requirements?
A: We require that all guests are current on rabies, distemper complex, and bordetella (kennel cough). We also highly recommend a flea and heartworm prevention.

Q: What do I need to bring to the Barking Lot for overnight stays?
A: Please bring all vaccination information, food for your dog measured out into individual bags for each meal, medications, a flat buckle style collar (no pinch or choke collars), identification on your dogs collar, plus a blanket or towel for extra comfort (please nothing that has foam, fill, or feathers). We do not need bowls, as we use our own.

Q: What is the age requirement to bring my puppy for daycare or boarding?
A: There is no age requirement for when you can start bringing your dog to daycare. We do require that puppies have all 3 rounds of puppy shots and will exempt the rabies vaccination up until the one (1) year mark.

Q: How long does my dog play for during the day?
A: Each dog gets a morning session and an afternoon session. Play times will vary from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the morning sessions and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the afternoon sessions. Feel free to call and check on play times for that day or request a certain play time.

Q: What time do you feed the dogs?
A: We are very flexible with feeding times, as we try to mimic what you do at home. Our main feeding times are from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and then from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We can also do mid day feedings. Feel free to tell us specific feeding times when you check in.

Q:  Are there breed/dog restrictions?
A: The Barking Lot does not have any breed or dog restrictions. Unfortunately, we cannot take care of any dogs that are aggressive towards our handlers.

Q: How long does a groom take?
A: Grooms typically take 3 to 4 hours depending on the cut, condition of coat, and breed. Stop by to meet one of our groomers for an assessment.
